Wordpress Offline

You want to know more about wordpress ? Want to design your own wordpress themes? But your internet access was suck… Maybe you can use wordpress offline to learn more about wordpress. This Wordpress Offline is very useful to learn more about wordpress. You can explore and try anything with your script or themes without spent your Internet Bandwith. First thing that you need is Emulator Server, i usually used XAMPP, you can download xammp-win32-1.4.6 here for free.

So let’s install Xampp on your PC:

The new windows will appear, choose your language and then click OK, then click next until you asked where to put your Xampp. Make sure that you install in c:\apachefriends\xampp\xampp and then click button Install.

Now you emulator server was installed, find icon XAMPP Start and put it on your deskop or quick lunch to make easy for you to find. Remember that everytime you want to open your Wordpress Offline, first that you run emulator server by click this icon.

Now, download wordpress script here, and then extract in directory : C:\apachefriends\xampp\htdocs .

Now to installing wordpress offline follow the step below:

1. Run Your Server Emulator by click icon XAMPP START.





2. On your browser type the address : http://localhost/phpmyadmin .



3. Create Your database, for example give name: wp_db then click button Create.
4. Open Your Wordpress Offline directory : C:\apachefriends\xampp\htdocs\wordpress.
5. Rename file wp-config-sample.php to wp-config.php and the open by notepad, edit the text like this define(’DB_NAME’, ‘wp_db’); // The name of the database ===>> type database name.
   define(’DB_USER’, ‘root’); // Your MySQL username ====>> do not change this.
   define(’DB_PASSWORD’, ”); // ” and password =====>>> leave it blank, don’t change it.
6. Type http://localhost/wordpress/wp-admin/install.php in your browser to begin installing.



7. Type your Blog name and any email address and then click button Install Wordpress.
8. Your password will appear do not forgot it but you can change it later.

Now your wordpress offline was installed, to open your wordpress offline type http://localhost/wordpress in your browser, and http://localhost/wordpress/wp-login.php to login in dashboard.

You can use your wordpress offline to learn and to try any themes that you want. If you want to try themes, just put your theme on directory :

C:\apachefriends\xampp\htdocs\wordpress\wp-content\themes\
